Interesting to see these pictures, as my Father worked for Leonards 1955 - 1966 (by which time it was owned by Chiesmans) He was employed as Soft Furnishing and Re-upholstery Workshop Manager and estimator. We lived above the shop, in the picture immediately above the parked car, the bay windows was our lounge. This part of the shop is still standing.

I bought this book from a secondhand bookshop in Rochester High street the other week.
It's mostly a business/shop directory,but has a few bits of history info in it.
It's quite interesting and nostalgic in places.




Leonards in Rochester was a pretty big shop(s) I don't really know much about them though,they closed in the 60's..i'm sure there's other people on here that know more about them ;)
