A wonderful piece of Fire Service history. A member of our group actually owns a Hosecart that came from Dartford Hospital but alas not, the one shown in the film.

Climbing a ladder in a skirt, particularly long ones, would have put the firewomen at considerable risk of getting caught up and  being tipped off the ladder, but I don't suppose for one minute that they ever gave it a thought!
