Strood Gymkhana, early 1900's, off Northcote Road, Strood. The recreation ground was opened in 1886 and was used for an annual horse show and gymkhana. The 'Rec' was also used for coronation and jubilee celebrations, military parades and pageants. A drinks fountain was later moved here from the Esplanade.
