I am trying to place (from the pictures) where the Navy House stood. I know it stood from Clover St. to James St. with a walled garden (waste ground) on Best St. from the Sunday School building to James St. I am going back 55 years, so memory could be a bit dodgy.

I think that in the late 1970s it was an ironmonger's shop. I recall buying some metalworking tools there.
The church was next door just up the hill where Blockbuster Video is now located.

There definitely was some sort of church in Clover Street.  Vague feeling may have been Ebenezeer Chapel or such.  Dont remember it looking like the photo though.

Noticed that this building has just been demolished, no idea what it used to be used for. (Modified 14-05-18)
