Dover Electricity Works
« Reply #1 on: October 03, 2010, 19:29:45 »
Established to light Dover's streets, in 1896 The Electricity Works were enlarged to power the tram system in Dover.
As electric points and lights became more commonplace, the existing plant was unable to cope and Dover was placed on the National Grid.
The Works was demolished, and are now the site of the Police Station in Ladywell.
