A few remnants of the Milton Fire Brigade.

The brass helmet and certificate both belonged to my father-in-law who is on the extreme left of the photo. The helmet he is wearing is the helmet pictured below it - my wife`s prized possession.
The badge on the helmet is of The National Fire Services Association and when removed there are the bolt holes of the original badge which I assume was that of the Milton Fire Brigade Badge.

Milton Regis Fire Station today. In a bad way, but I`m told it`s listed.

You`re very close! You can`t see the building as it `lays back` a bit. I can`t get a view of it on Google Maps. It`s still there but in a bad way I`m afraid. I`ve been meaning to get a shot of it for a long time but have never got around to it. I should be down that way on Thursday and will make a point of it before someone knocks it down. I`m referring to the 1930s picture of course. I`ve no idea where the earlier one was taken. My wife`s father is on the 1930s one and her Grandfather is possibly on the earlier one but, unfortunately we can`t recognise him.

The now defunct Milton Regis Fire Brigade at their station in Crown Road. The building is still there but in a very sorry state. It lays back a bit and is on the right hand side between the Crown Road roundabout and Milton High Street and easily missed.
