News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

Paragraph 27 of this link shows a photo and states that although it was known as the Decca radio it was in fact Marconi

http://www.dungeness.org.uk/what-to-see/

but then scanning down through this link seems to give confirmation that it was Decca

http://jproc.ca/hyperbolic/decca_buildings.html

As Marconi was  there in the 1890s and the Decca thing was later maybe they were both involved on Dungeness at different times and used the same site

I understand from someone who has lived and worked in Dungeness for decades that the tumbledown shack was Decca rather than Marconi.  I can ask him for further information if required.

Does anyone know anything about the Marconi radio research huts at Dungeness (http://www.romneymarshtimes.com/2008/11/5-things-you-didn-know-about-dungeness_26.html).

I'm researching a possible article on them for my website, any further info or pointers would be appreciated and credited.

Cheers,
Andy
