There are two sets of double doors there. As an education professional with experience of several Kent schools I would say it was quite unusual to have two sets of double doors in the back of a school hall...a clue perhaps?

This was the note with the above photograph:
The glittering spectacle of a Christmas Party believed to have been held back in 1959.
It is possible that this Xmas party was for children of a local primary school, the date suggested on the back being Christmas 1959. But there is little else to go on, except, perhaps the distinctive looking gent dressed as Father Christmas, or the lady beside him.
he photograph has at one time been mounted on a cardboard backing, in a picture frame, or a photograph album page.
There is no clue as to who the photographer was.
A search of the Folkestone Herald and its midweek paper the Folkestone and Hythe Gazette, for 1959, was unsuccessful.
Might it have been a village school party ... or of a Dover junior school?

Most of the Victorian schools had those as classroom dividers- St Mathews Borstal comes to mind but I went to several others similar and know of at least 2 around here the same.

Bob thought it was a school but it might not be... it might be a community or village...

Does anyone recognise where this school Christmas Party party was?  In 1959.  Most probably Dover but may be Folkestone.
