I've found out that the Fountain Tap in West Lane in 1861 but by 1901/1902 it has become a Shepherd Neame & Co's Ale Store.

No, it was said to be in West Lane, I thought it was the smaller part of the Fountain Hotel Building, the part that has Shepherd Neame on it. Other than that I know nothing.

Was that Shepherd Neame Building in the picture that 'sheppey_bottles' put on at one time                               'The Fountain Tap'?

Just trawled through the 1902 directory and the place I meant sounds like the Invcta works in West La corner of King St

Hi Paul & S_B
That is West Lane but the place I'm meaning (I thought) stood where the yellow brick wall is, more or less across West Lane. Think of a double garage with a gable above sliding doors. May be its memory playing up? Recollect the wording was on the gable
