News: “Over the graves of the Druids and under the wreck of Rome,
Rudely but surely they bedded the plinth of the days to come.
Behind the feet of the Legions and before the Norseman’s ire
Rudely but greatly begat they the framing of State and Shire
Rudely but deeply they laboured, and their labour stand till now.
If we trace on ancient headlands the twist of their eight-ox plough.”

Hello I am a newbie, so hope I am posting correctly.

Has anyone any details please of this young man? I am writing a biography of him and others who died from our village. Would be so interested to learn more, as for 1940 I see no mention of him on your website forum.
Graves Commission
In Memory of Warrant Officer Class II JOHN ALFRED MARTIN
1054535, 115 Field Regt., Royal Artillery
who died age 38 at Warden Point, Isle of Sheppey
on Monday 14 October 1940.

I believe in an aircraft?

Many thanks for any help or suggestions on this.
Many thanks, Ethelbert
