@Ann: The upper floor will have a gym, there will also be a cafe and several smaller retail units in there from what i recall being in the KM a while ago.

Apparently the landlord wishes to have several tenants on the same size of property.
I don't use social media but would really appreciate it if someone could ask around for photos & thoughts for me please & upload them here.

Many thanks.

I think DIY is losing its popularity, and all the DIY firms are losing trade.

Some of the staff from the Strood store are moving to the Gillingham one. My son`s fiance works there and is really sad it's closing, she's been there 7 yrs. I'm not sure why it is closing though, I haven't asked her.

Why is the shop shutting?  Are the other shops like the one in Gillingham shutting too?

This probably doesn't help much but it shows the area as it was in the1940s

Hello

On January the 9th 2016 B&Q Strood will stop trading for good. The store has been on the site for 30 years with some staff having worked there for 20 years plus. I would really like to come across some old pictures of the store including images of the site that was on the land before B&Q. Also I want to hear your tales & history of the shop. Strood will truly miss it. The towns will too. Even better did you work there once upon a time & what was it like.

I'd love to hear from you.

Many thanks.
