My re-calculated assesment of the HE bomb that fell on Blutown High Street Killing one person and seriously injuring another Two.

I think that the Red box is the point of impact.
The Yellow boxed area is total distruction(unsalvageable)

The side of this building was damaged but was able to be repaired.

This is the site now Island fencing.The frontage of  building on the right is a post war Warehouse rebuilt C1950.

In my humble opinion i would say the point of impact is roughly where that Garden well is :)
Approx 4 or 5 Shops or Houses were destroyed.
The lower part of the wall seems to confirm a ground level detonation.
Maybe it's big horse I'm a Londoner. :{

Ooops Sorry :-[
I seemed to have made a mistake on the exact location :(
Its opposite Island Fencing,
I went by that one way sign and its not at the bottom of Chapel St its further up.
Why is that one way sign there? theres no road.
If anyones down that way Sunday should be a good day to take a pic as there should be no cars parked.
Maybe it's big horse I'm a Londoner. :{

Anything in the lot i posted up a while ago?

The bomb that damaged the new heritage centre killed one person and injured another 2 i think.  That must have been further along i think.  The carpark on the corner of Chapel Street i think was the site of the Chapel House.

Looking at that aerial view and my pic.
I think that bomb would have gone off on the courner of Chapel St.
The splinter marks seem to stop suddenly on the left and right as if the blast had been channeled by buildings.
I wonder if that car park on the right courner is the result?
Ill look at that building on the courner Friday to see if it has any damage or new brickwork.
If im right it will have ???

Cant see no splinter marks in this pic.
There is another old dock gate by Chapel St and that one way sign is at the end of Chapel St.
I would say that this bomb went off at ground level as the marks are low down.

Where abouts along the wall is this?  I know a bomb dropped near the new Heritage centre.

I was driving around  London the other day and noticed the usual Bomb fragment damage on walls and near Railway bridges.
I wondered if there was any damage left visable on the Island while i was waiting for her in doors to buy up Tescos i went and had a look.
Almost straight away i found this on the dock wall in Bluetown High St.

What always amazes me is how close the together fragmentation is, Most of the fragments would kill you if they hit you or
seriously injure you. :(
Anyone know of anymore ???
